Brutality of Humanistic BDSM

Brutality of Humanistic BDSM

One of the most famous products of Humanistic Psychology is self-actualisation as described by Maslow. The hallmark of self-actualisation is peak experience which is the euphoria felt by a person realising their full potential. It has also been described as

“Accompanying these experiences is a heightened sense of control over the body and emotions, and a wider sense of awareness, as though one was standing upon a mountaintop. The experience fills the individual with wonder and awe. They feel at one with the world and is pleased with it; they have seen the ultimate truth or the essence of all things.” (1)

Sounds a lot like how kinksters describe what it feels like to scene. New and experienced players in the lifestyle have said that being D/s/switch allowed them to find their true selves. Imagine feeling like you’ve wanted to be dominated since you were a child and finally giving your self permission to acknowledge this desire and act upon it. (Note: I’m not advocating playing as a minor, ok?)

The brutality of Humanistic BDSM comes from acknowledging those basic and often deeply hidden desires. It can range from wanting to be completely owned by another person to forcing someone to perform sex acts they are not naturally inclined to seek out to the most obscure fetishes only known to a select few. It also allows players to break free from gender stereotypes and social conventions.

Practicing Humanistic BDSM allows players to explore the breadth of their kink all the way to the edges and even beyond. It’s about accepting your true desires that aren’t normally seen even within the lifestyle.

As a practitioner of Humanistic BDSM I was able to discover my core true fetish which is “making people question their life choices.” I embraced that I want to push my play partners’ emotional boundaries during play. It’s pretty damn brutal.

So what can the brutality of Humanistic BDSM look like in practice?

Anonymous D-type (Hint: It’s me): So how do you feel about getting hogtied?

sub being vetted (coughPetrickcough): Actually I had a traumatic childhood experience being hogtied.

D*: Want to recreate your childhood trauma?

s*: 😦
s*: Sure, that sounds fun.

Practicing Humanistic BDSM allows players to explore the breadth of their kink all the way to the edges and even beyond. It’s about accepting your true desires that aren’t normally seen even within the lifestyle. When you accept, acknowledge, and act upon these deep rooted desires one cannot help but realise their true potential. By doing so we can achieve those peak experiences masquerading as amazing scenes you remember for a lifetime.
